Volleyball Recap: Danville Starts Season with Win at Home

Danville gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Geraldine Bulldogs. This was payback for the Hawks, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

While Danville won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-20.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mylee Pittman, who had ten digs and one assist.

Geraldine's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.

Danville has already played their next game (against Hartselle), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Geraldine, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Lincoln on the 23rd.
