Recap: Spencer Greenwave vs. Hardaway Hawks
It was a good run, but the Spencer Greenwave unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were beaten by Hardaway 66-28. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Spencer has scored all season.
Spencer's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Naomi Berk, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds, and Alexandria Berk who scored no points along with eight rebounds. The contest was Berk's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Brianna Brownlee was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Spencer's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-1. As for Hardaway, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Spencer won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Shaw at 3:00 p.m. on December 21st. Hopefully Shaw focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday. Hardaway won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Carver at 6:00 p.m. on December 21st. Carver is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
