Soccer Game Preview: Roosevelt vs. Hawken

The Roosevelt Rough Riders will take on the Hawken Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Roosevelt is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They blew past Streetsboro 7-3 on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for Roosevelt as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.

Their offense was hitting Streetsboro from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Isan Roberts led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Hawken hasn't lost a match since August 15th, a trend which continued in their latest game last Thursday. They came out on top against West Geauga by a score of 3-1. Given Hawken's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 55th, while West Geauga are ranked 302nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hawken's victory bumped their record up to 14-1-2. As for Roosevelt, they now have a winning record of 8-7-3.
