It was another big night for Taylor Sipfle, who went 8-for-9 to rack up 19 points and seven rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last 16 games she's played. Destinee Benway was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to five assists and five boards.
Hamilton was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They racked up six more assists than Chandler's also-impressive total of ten.
Meanwhile, Mesa had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They walked away with a 49-38 win over the Toros.
Mesa found their leader in freshman Taylor Morris, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. With that strong performance, Morris is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Charly Pacheco, who went 5-for-11 en route to 10 points.
Mesa's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-10. As for Hamilton, their win bumped their record up to 15-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Hamilton has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 29.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Mesa struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Hamilton was able to grind out a solid victory over Mesa in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 50-37. Does Hamilton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mesa turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
