Baseball Game Preview: Proctor Raiders vs. Fort Mill Yellow Jackets

The Proctor Raiders will venture away from home to challenge the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Proctor barely beat Central Valley Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raiders blew past the Thunder 14-1 on Thursday. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Thunder recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

JAADIEL ROMERO made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). ROMERO was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, KEYTHER CARRASCO and Michael OLIVADOTI did most of the damage at the plate: CARRASCO went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while OLIVADOTI went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Fort Mill faced Indian Land in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Yellow Jackets came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 10-6. Surprisingly, this marked the Yellow Jackets' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Fort Mill pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Proctor, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
