Softball Recap: Shoemaker Takes a Loss

Shoemaker has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.26 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 14-8 to the Temple Wildcats. The Wolves' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Nichole Clemente made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadence Taylor, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Clemente wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Shoemaker kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted in their last 15 matchups.

Shoemaker's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Temple, they now have a winning record of 7-6-1.

Coincidentally, Shoemaker and Temple will both be playing Midway the next time they take the field. Shoemaker will head out to face Midway at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Temple will host them at 6:55 p.m. on March 11th.
