Basketball Recap: Spring Woods Falls Short of East View in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Spring Woods couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the East View Patriots on Friday, falling 87-64. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since November 9, 2024.

Spring Woods' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trae Pickens, who en route to 14 points along with five assists and three steals. Pickens continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Torian Pickens, who made all 5 shots he took to post 11 points.

Spring Woods' loss dropped their record down to 23-8. As for East View, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-8 record this season.

Spring Woods does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East View, they will square off against West Brook at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East View knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully West Brook likes a good challenge.
