Baseball Game Preview: King's Christian Knights vs. Princeton Day Panthers

The King's Christian Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Princeton Day Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (King's Christian has three straight victories, Princeton Day has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

King's Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past LEAP Academy 16-1 on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Knights with their most commanding win of the season.

Bryce Brown and Brayden Pickard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Brown struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Pickard tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. At the plate, Brown scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Pickard scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Pickard is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, King's Christian got a big performance out of Aiden Lawlor, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Levi Smith also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

King's Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Princeton Day challenged Lawrence on Saturday. The Panthers fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 4-2.

Princeton Day's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for King's Christian, their record is now 3-1.
