Baseball Game Preview: Notre Dame Prep Lancers vs. Woodland Regional Hawks

The Notre Dame Prep Lancers will square off against the Woodland Regional Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Notre Dame Prep came up short against Seymour on Monday, falling 15-2. That's two games in a row now that the Lancers have lost by exactly 13 runs.

Gabriel Colon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Woodland Regional lost 12-3 to West Haven on Monday. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tyler DeCrescenzo and Jason Beaudry were huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. Throwing, DeCrescenzo pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Beaudry didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. At the plate, DeCrescenzo went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double, while Beaudry scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. DeCrescenzo also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jack Schwenger, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he brought in this season.

Notre Dame Prep now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Woodland Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
