Preview: Edgewood Bulldogs vs. East Texas Homeschool Sports Chargers

The Edgewood Bulldogs and the East Texas Homeschool Sports Chargers will round out the year against one another at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Edgewood's game was all tied up 23-23 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 56-46 win over Prairiland. The win was just what Edgewood needed coming off of a 82-42 defeat in their prior game.

Meanwhile, East Texas Homeschool Sports had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 64-27 win over Pittsburg on the road. Given East Texas Homeschool Sports' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 644th, while Pittsburg is ranked 1295th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East Texas Homeschool Sports relied on the efforts of Ethan Gallant, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, and Will Mason, who scored 19 points along with five assists and five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Gallant scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Micah Dragoo, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.

Edgewood's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for East Texas Homeschool Sports, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
