Columbia was dominant in the first set, but otherwise had just enough against a tough Pinckneyville squad. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-18.
Meanwhile, Gibault Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Chester on Wednesday and fell 2-1.
Gibault Catholic actually scored more points across those three sets (77-67), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 11-25, 30-28.
