Basketball Game Preview: Westfield Bulldogs vs. Lake Braddock Bruins

Westfield is 0-5 against Lake Braddock since December of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Westfield Bulldogs just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Lake Braddock Bruins at 7:00 p.m.

Westfield is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Thursday. They lost 50-26 to Chantilly. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Chargers are ranked 29th).

Meanwhile, Lake Braddock can bid farewell to their 18-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 46-38 victory over Alexandria City. The Bruins' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Lake Braddock's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-12 and their overall record up to 2-20. As for Westfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.

Westfield came up short against Lake Braddock in their previous matchup back in November of 2018, falling 47-35. Can Westfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
