New London had lost six games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 2-4 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Ledyard Colonels with a sharp 11-2 win. That's more bragging rights for the Whalers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

As for Ledyard, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

For Ledyard's part, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Spinner, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Coming up, New London will head out to challenge Wheeler at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Ledyard, they will host Griswold at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
