Recap: Community Christian Cyclones vs. Bethel Christian Academy Trojans
The Community Christian Cyclones waltzed into Monday's matchup with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They blew past Bethel Christian Academy 65-45. Community Christian might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.
Community Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Evan Gattis, who scored 19 points along with six assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gattis has scored at least 25% of Community Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Jack Beamon, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Community Christian's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.17 points. As for Bethel Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Community Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ahoskie Christian at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th. Ahoskie Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 563rd, while Community Christian is ranked 165th). Bethel Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pamlico Christian Academy at 7:00 a.m. on December 12th. Hopefully Pamlico Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Monday.
