Basketball Recap: Trinity Collegiate Triumphs

The Trinity Collegiate Titans beat the Curtis Baptist Crusaders 51-38 on Friday.

Among those leading the charge was Jy'Ell Preston, who went 7-for-9 en route to 15 points and seven boards. The matchup was his fifth in a row with at least 15 points. Garrison Copeland was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.

Trinity Collegiate was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Curtis Baptist only posted three.

Brayden Husband and Kingsly Shine certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Husband almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds, while Shine posted 11 points. Shine is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last four games he's played.

Trinity Collegiate's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Curtis Baptist, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Trinity Collegiate didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 83-58 loss against Fort Walton Beach on the 6th. As for Curtis Baptist, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 71-25 defeat against Aiken on the 6th.
