Soccer Game Preview: Lenoir City vs. Hardin Valley Academy

Lenoir City hasn't had much luck against Hardin Valley Academy recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Hawks at 11:00 a.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Lenoir City had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt McMinn County on Tuesday. The Panthers never let the Cherokees get on the board and left with a 3-0 win.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Hardin Valley Academy made sure to put some goals up on the board against Karns on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Beavers. Considering Hardin Valley Academy have won eight matches by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Karns from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Morgan Holloway led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Lenoir City now has a winning record of 6-5-3. As for Hardin Valley Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4-2.

Lenoir City suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Hardin Valley Academy when the teams last played back in September. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
