Basketball Recap: Chapelgate Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Chapelgate Christian Academy lost against St. John's Catholic Prep back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Chapelgate Christian Academy Yellowjackets were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to the St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings. The Yellowjackets just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Chapelgate Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Plater, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Custis, who went 5 for 11 en route to 13 points and five rebounds.

Chapelgate Christian Academy's record is now 8-17. As for St. John's Catholic Prep, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chapelgate Christian Academy has already played their next game (against Friends), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. St. John's Catholic Prep will take on St. Paul's at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. John's Catholic Prep has insisted on making their lastfour contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-3 during that stretch of close contests.
