Basketball Recap: Azle Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fossil Ridge, Azle was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They slipped by the Saginaw Rough Riders 30-29. That's more bragging rights for the Hornets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Several Rough Riders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jazmine Duncan, who posted seven points in addition to ten rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Amaya McGrew, who put up nine points and seven rebounds.

Azle's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-14. As for Saginaw, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.

Azle will take on Rock Hill in a tournament on Thursday. Saginaw and Martin will round out the year against one another at at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
