Basketball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were dealt a 73-26 loss at the hands of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Cobras can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Tigers are ranked 74th).

Leila Bryant continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, going 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points along with seven boards and six assists. Bryant is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Green, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Central will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Palm Bay at 7:00 p.m. on January 7th. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 64-30 win against Riverview Sarasota on the 30th.
