Basketball Recap: Cordova Takes a Loss

Cordova came up into this matchup off a tough 41-point loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Dora Bulldogs by a score of 41-38 on Saturday. The Blue Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 59-54.

Chijioke Washington was the offensive standout of the match as he went 5 of 10 on his way to 10 points and six boards. Bartley Black was another key player, putting up nine points.

Cordova's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Dora, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season.

Cordova will be taking part in a tournament against Curry at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cordova is facing Curry at the right time seeing as Curry is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Dora, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-35 win against Central on the 20th.
