Softball Recap: Glencoe Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Glencoe won the last time they faced Mountainside and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Crimson Tide came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mavericks, sneaking past 1-0. The win was nothing new for the Crimson Tide as they're now sitting on three straight.

Not much got past Kalli Farrimond, who gave up just two hits to keep Mountainside off the board. Farrimond has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Glencoe pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mountainside, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glencoe will welcome Jesuit at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Crusaders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Crimson Tide's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mountainside, they will be playing at home against Westview at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Mavericks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
