John Paul II found a leader in Casey Rizzo as the squad took down Battery Creek on Monday. Rizzo showed up in a big way, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 6 strikeouts per game. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.
