Baseball Game Preview: Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions vs. Coral Park Rams

The Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions will head out to take on the Coral Park Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Immaculata-La Salle has four straight victories, Coral Park has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Immaculata-La Salle is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Reagan 30-1 on Wednesday. The Royal Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Evan Mytril looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jason Amor was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Massimo Ron was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases.

Immaculata-La Salle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .838. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Coral Park came up short against Schoolhouse Prep on Tuesday and fell 8-4.

Immaculata-La Salle pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Coral Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.

Everything went Immaculata-La Salle's way against Coral Park in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Immaculata-La Salle made off with an 11-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royal Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
