Basketball Game Preview: Grapevine Faith Christian Lions vs. Midland Christian Mustangs

The Grapevine Faith Christian Lions will take on the Midland Christian Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when Grapevine Faith Christian faced off against Fort Worth Christian on Tuesday. Grapevine Faith Christian came out on top against Fort Worth Christian by a score of 33-26.

It was another big night for Scarlett Bair, who posted 15 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Grapevine Faith Christian's points.

Meanwhile, Midland Christian entered their tilt with Grace Prep on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They breezed by the Lions to the tune of 55-25. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Lions are ranked 900th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Midland Christian has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Grapevine Faith Christian, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Grapevine Faith Christian beat Midland Christian 42-34 in their previous meeting back in January of 2018. Does Grapevine Faith Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Midland Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
