Hillsdale had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They won by a run and slipped past the Cardinal Newman Cardinals 1-0. Winning may never get old, but the Fighting Knights sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

The result came thanks to Lola Jones's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hillsdale saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor O'Mahony, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Hillsdale pushed their record up to 21-9-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Cardinal Newman, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-7.

As of now, neither Hillsdale nor the Cardinals have any future games scheduled.
