Basketball Recap: Friends' Central vs. Friends Select
Friends' Central waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They walked away with a 66-57 win over Friends Select. Given Friends' Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the are ranked 219th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Muhsin Muhammad, who scored 19 points along with five assists. He hasn't dropped below 18 points for four straight games. Fazl Oshodi was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Friends' Central pushed their record up to 17-4 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Friends Select, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-14.
Friends' Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Friends Select won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd. George School knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully the like a good challenge.
