Volleyball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Clinton's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Clinton unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Powell Panthers. The Dragons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

While Clinton ultimately came up short, they really made Powell work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-20, 23-25, 25-12.

Josie Moody paced Clinton's offense, picking up 14 kills. Moody got some help from Alaina Staudenmaier and her 20 assists. Finally, Moody was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Clinton's defeat dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Powell, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Clinton is set to challenge their familiar foe Gibbs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Powell will face off against rival Halls at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
