Lumberton extended their winning streak to eight games thanks to a huge performance from Jaiden Shephard. The Lumberton Pirates really took it to the Douglas Byrd Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-25 win thanks in part to Shephard, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. What's more, he also posted a 88% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in November of 2024.

Lonnie Porter was another key player, as he made all 5 shots he took to post 10 points and six assists. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 47.2% field goal percentage.

Douglas Byrd's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Liam Irizarry, who posted 11 points and five steals, and Anthony Winston, who scored six points and six rebounds. Irizarry is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

Lumberton pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 37.8% in those games and 26.6% outside of them. As for Douglas Byrd, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.

Coincidentally, Lumberton and Douglas Byrd will both be playing Seventy-First the next time they take the court. Douglas Byrd will head out to face Seventy-First at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Lumberton will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
