Griffith is 9-1 against Kankakee Valley since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Kougars at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Griffith duked it out with Hanover Central on Friday. The Panthers came up short against the Wildcats, falling 11-4. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Griffith saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angelo Gallo, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run. Steve McDermott was another, going 2-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Kankakee Valley's offense. They lost 10-0 to Munster on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Kougars have suffered since April 15th.

This is the second loss in a row for Kankakee Valley and nudges their season record down to 13-11-1. As for Griffith, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Griffith has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Kankakee Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
