Baseball Game Preview: Northeastern Jets vs. Greenon Knights

The Northeastern Jets will face off against the Greenon Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Northeastern and 14 for Greenon dating back to last season.

Northeastern lost 9-1 to West Jefferson on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Greenon came up short against Catholic Central on Thursday, falling 18-3.

Greenon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddox Vawter, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Grayson Shingler also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Greenon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Northeastern, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Everything went Northeastern's way against Greenon in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Northeastern made off with an 11-4 win. Will the Jets repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
