Basketball Recap: Lincoln Lutheran Comes Up Short

Lincoln Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Archbishop Bergan Knights and fell 55-28. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 40-26 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Madison Schmidt had an outrageously good game for Archbishop Bergan as she went 8 for 14 from beyond the arc on her way to 24 points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tessa Powers, who posted eight points and five steals.

Lincoln Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Archbishop Bergan, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-9.

Lincoln Lutheran didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-24 loss against Bishop Neumann on the 24th. Archbishop Bergan has also already played their next match, a 45-17 defeat against Scotus on the 24th.
