Basketball Game Preview: Allen East Mustangs vs. Lincolnview Lancers

Two dominant guards in Rilynn Jones and Keira Breese are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Allen East Mustangs will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Lincolnview Lancers at 6:15 p.m.

Allen East is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Bluffton just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 49-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Mustangs came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Pirates are ranked 281st).

Meanwhile, Lincolnview took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 64-26 victory over St. John's. That 38 point margin sets a new team best for the Lancers this season.

Lincolnview's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Allen East, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-4.

Allen East was able to grind out a solid victory over Lincolnview when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 44-35. Will Allen East repeat their success, or does Lincolnview have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
