Basketball Recap: Cousino Piles Up the Points Against Lakeview

Cousino won against Fraser last Thursday with 59 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. The Cousino Patriots blew past the Lakeview Huskies 59-28. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Huskies are ranked 617th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cousino to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nicholas Farr, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Cade, who earned ten points and five steals.

Cousino smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive contests.

Cousino's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Lakeview, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Cousino has already played their next game, a 61-44 victory against Anchor Bay on the 17th. As for Lakeview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 77-48 defeat against Warren Woods-Tower on the 17th.
