Volleyball Recap: Plano East Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Plano East faced off against Plano on Tuesday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wildcats. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won four matches in a row.

Plano East never let Plano on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-20, 27-25.

Plano's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Savannah Osborn, who had 17 assists and seven digs, and Madeline Garcia, who had 15 digs and seven kills. Osborn has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more assists the last 14 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maren McCardel, who had 15 assists and five digs.

Plano East's victory bumped their record up to 27-10. As for Plano, their loss ended a nine-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 26-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Plano East is set to square off against their familiar foe McKinney at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Plano will challenge rival Rock Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
