Basketball Game Preview: New Philadelphia Quakers vs. Madison Comprehensive Rams

The New Philadelphia Quakers will venture away from home to take on the Madison Comprehensive Rams at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

New Philadelphia is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 73-44 victory over Wooster. Given the Quakers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Generals are ranked 605th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Madison Comprehensive was able to grind out a solid win over Mansfield Senior on Thursday, taking the game 43-33. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Madison Comprehensive has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for New Philadelphia, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5.

New Philadelphia was able to grind out a solid win over Madison Comprehensive in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 50-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Philadelphia since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
