Preview: Eagleville Eagles vs. Forrest Rockets
Eagleville is 8-0 against Forrest since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Eagleville Eagles will be home for the holidays to greet the Forrest Rockets at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Eagleville is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Forrest in Tennessee (Eagleville is ranked 177th, while Forrest is ranked 405th).
Last Monday, Eagleville didn't have too much trouble with Mt. Pleasant on the road as they won 58-44.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 23-23 at halftime, Forrest was not quite Moore County's equal in the second half on Tuesday. Forrest took a 54-40 bruising from Moore County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Forrest in their matchups with Moore County: they've now lost four in a row.
Forrest's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Tristan Goad, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Jimmy Bond who scored three points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him.
Eagleville now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Forrest, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Eagleville strolled past Forrest when the teams last played back in November by a score of 56-38. Will Eagleville repeat their success, or does Forrest have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
