Basketball Recap: St. Paul Lutheran Saints vs. Santa Fe Chiefs
St. Paul Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 36-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Santa Fe Chiefs. The Saints lost against the Chiefs in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 67-30 score last time.
Santa Fe was led to victory by Mia Lark and Emma Michael. Lark went 5 of 9 en route to 17 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Michael dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Michael is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.
St. Paul Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Santa Fe, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
