Basketball Recap: Camp Point Central Panthers vs. Griggsville-Perry Tornadoes

The Camp Point Central Panthers were the 43-40 winner over the Griggsville-Perry Tornadoes when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Camp Point Central took a hard 35-21 fall against the Tornadoes on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Camp Point Central has scored all season.

Griggsville-Perry's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Wyatt Lipcaman led the charge by scoring 12 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Michael Myers, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Camp Point Central and nudges their season record down to 16-6. As for Griggsville-Perry, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 22-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Camp Point Central will square off against the Saukees at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Griggsville-Perry, they will head out on the road to challenge the Vipers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Illinois (South County is ranked 203rd, while the Tornadoes are ranked 189th).
