Basketball Recap: Twin River Titans vs. Thayer Central Titans
Twin River came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by Thayer Central 58-27. While losing is never fun, Twin River can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while Thayer Central is ranked 47th).

Despite the loss, Twin River saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mya Ramaekers posted 11 points and five steals. Ramaekers continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Yrkoski, who scored five points and six boards.
Thayer Central found their leader in sophomore Paige Tietjen, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals. Tietjen is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 18 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Addie Marsh, who put up 15 points and three steals.
Twin River dropped their record down to 13-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Thayer Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
Twin River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Thayer Central, they have already played their next match, a 44-40 loss against Southern Valley on the 22nd.
