Avalon won the last time they faced Oakwood and Josh Novak did his part to make sure it happened again. The Eagles claimed a resounding 88-58 win over the Panthers thanks in part to Novak, who rushed for 485 yards and nine scores while picking up 17.3 yards per carry. He has been hot for a while, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last 16 times he's played.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Avalon, racking up 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Kade Johnson, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

The victory keeps Avalon at an undefeated 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 68.2 points this season. As for Oakwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Avalon will challenge Trinity School of Texas at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will be up against the Titans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 73.2 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Oakwood, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Calvert at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th.
