After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hialeah-Miami Lakes, Southwest was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Southridge Spartans as they made off with a 17-1 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.

Tatiana Perez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Perez was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Summer Garcia was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Emma Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Southwest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Southwest is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14 runs. As for Southridge, they dropped their record down to 0-11 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
