Basketball Recap: Legacy Starts Season with Defeat on the Road + How To Watch

Legacy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the ThunderRidge Grizzlies on Tuesday, falling 73-47. The loss continues a trend for the Lightning in their meetings with the Grizzlies: they've now lost three in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Legacy lost, don't look at Jaedon Ward. Despite the final result, he posted 22 points and five rebounds. Ward has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Andrew Allshouse, who earned six points.

ThunderRidge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sean Morton out in front who went 7-for-11 to rack up 18 points. Blake Cremeen was another key player, shooting 56% from the field en route to 15 points.

Coming up, Legacy will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Eaglecrest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for ThunderRidge, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Northfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
