Basketball Recap: Isma?Il Abdul-Rahman and Jeremiah Hunt Secure Win for Millikan

Millikan won the last time they faced Maranatha and things went their way on Saturday too. The Millikan Rams came out on top against the Maranatha Minutemen by a score of 50-43. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Minutemen are ranked 594th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Millikan to victory were Jeremiah Hunt and Isma?Il Abdul-Rahman. Hunt went 8 of 16 on his way to 21 points, while Abdul-Rahman almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 14 rebounds. With that strong performance, Abdul-Rahman is now averaging an impressive 8.3 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Stewart, who posted six points.

Millikan's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Maranatha, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Millikan will square off against Lakewood at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Millikan is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.4 points per game this season. As for Maranatha, they will host Whittier Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
