Baseball Game Preview: Ozark Tigers vs. Glendale Falcons

Ozark hasn't had much luck against Glendale recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Tigers will take on the Falcons at 6:30 p.m. Ozark is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

Ozark will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run last Thursday, then bounced right back against Waynesville on Tuesday. Ozark was the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Waynesville. Ozark might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Graham Bennett looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ozark let Peyton Bullinger and Drew Hayward run wild. Bullinger went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Hayward went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave Hayward a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Quentin Combs, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Ozark hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Waynesville struck out nine times.

Meanwhile, Glendale didn't have quite enough to beat Forsyth on Wednesday and fell 3-2. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ozark's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Glendale, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.
