Basketball Recap: Kingsford Triumphs

Kingsford hadn't done well against Escanaba recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Kingsford Flivvers walked away with a 45-38 victory over the Escanaba Eskymos. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 42-29 back in December of 2024.

Escanaba lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Katey Lamb, who posted 12 points in addition to five boards and three steals. That's the most points Lamb has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Grayson Lamarche, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards.

Kingsford now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Escanaba, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kingsford will welcome Forest Park at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Escanaba, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hancock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
