Basketball Game Preview: Canton Academy Panthers vs. Delta Streets Academy Lions

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Canton Academy Panthers face off against the Delta Streets Academy Lions at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday... Canton Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Canton Academy is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Copiah Academy back in December of 2024 (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Canton Academy lost 63-42 to Copiah Academy. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-12.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 61 points the game before, Delta Streets Academy was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 59-30 loss at the hands of Greenville Christian. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Delta Streets Academy's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-10. As for Canton Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Canton Academy strolled past Delta Streets Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2019 by a score of 50-32. Does Canton Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Delta Streets Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
