Basketball Recap: Parkwood Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Brooke Fowler and Brinley Parker + How To Watch

After flying high against Sun Valley on Wednesday, Parkwood came back down to earth. The Wolf Pack lost to the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves on the road by a 62-43 margin on Friday.

Parkwood's loss came despite strong showings from Brinley Parker and Brooke Fowler. Parker dropped a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Fowler went 7-for-16 to rack up 19 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Parker is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 64% in the last four games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Caliyah Ferguson, who posted two points along with five boards and three steals.

Ballantyne Ridge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madi Franklin, who shot 46% from the field on her way to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Kaiya Dodson was another key player, putting up 17 points and seven steals.

Parkwood's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Ballantyne Ridge, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Parkwood will square off against Piedmont at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ballantyne Ridge, they will challenge Garinger at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
