Basketball Recap: Palisades Starts off Right with Win over Olympic

Palisades had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Olympic Trojans with a sharp 53-33 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Pumas have posted against the Trojans since January 27, 2023.

Palisades' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooklyn Young, who posted six points in addition to ten assists and six steals. Those ten assists gave Young a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Rushin, who had eight points along with eight steals and five boards.

Palisades smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 14 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Palisades has already played their next contest (against Chambers), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Olympic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-44 defeat against Jay M. Robinson on the 21st.
