Baseball Recap: Park City Miners vs. Timpanogos Timberwolves
Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Park City couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Timpanogos Timberwolves on Monday. The Miners have struggled against the Timberwolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Jakob DeVries put in work no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Justin Michaelis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
