Softball Recap: Mahanoy Area Wins Going Away Against Nativity BVM

Mahanoy Area's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Nativity BVM Green Wave. The win continues a trend for the Golden Bears in their matchups with the Green Wave: they've now won four in a row.

Ella Connolly was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Killian, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI and one run.

Mahanoy Area was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nativity BVM only posted a batting average of .263.

Mahanoy Area's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Nativity BVM, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.

Mahanoy Area will square off against Our Lady of Lourdes Regional at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Nativity BVM, they will challenge Williams Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Green Wave will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven games.
